ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) was a renowned Italian polymath of the High Renaissance, known for his expertise in painting, engineering, science, and more. Beyond his acclaimed paintings, like the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, he left a legacy of diverse interests documented in his extensive notebooks. Born near Vinci to a notary and a lower-class woman, he was educated in Florence under Andrea del Verrocchio. His career took him to Milan, Florence, and Rome before his final years in France, where he passed away in 1519. Widely considered a genius of his time, his influence on art and culture remains profound, with his works still admired and studied today.
